Hagstrom Retroscape Impala
Hagstrom originally introduced the Impala in 1963, and the instrument quickly found their way into the hands of many professional and aspiring musicians throughout the world. This was a period of great experimentation and innovation in electric guitar design. With its body shape and unique assortment of tone-shaping options, the Impala stood out and became integral in creating great music and inspiring amazing artists. It hase become highly sought after as a collectible, and vintage instruments still find they way onto stages worldwide.
In this reissue, Hagstrom has placed special emphasis on capturing the essence of the classic Impala. At the same time, important improvements have been integrated, which today's guitarists simply expect. The neck profile has been subtly rounded, achieving optimal balance between the neck and body, ensuring that the guitar hangs perfectly on the strap. The "Original Tremar" vibrato unit has been relentlessly fine-tuned for tuning stability. The ergonomically tapered neck-body joint invites extensive solo passages and makes accessing the higher frets particularly comfortable.
Furthermore, the improved switch panel features modern, reliable, and ergonomic slide switches that mirror the function and appearance of the originals.
Since the sound of the original Impala has firmly ingrained itself in the hearts of players, every effort has been made to pay full tribute to the original pickups. The hard work has paid off, as Hagstrom's AlNiCo 5 "Retro-S" pickups not only deliver the essential '60s sound perfectly but also open the door to modern sonic possibilities. The Impala is equipped with two of these distinctive AlNiCo 5 single-coil pickups named "Retro-S," leaving no tonal desires unfulfilled.
